Agedashi Tofu

 
 

(Deep-Fried Tofu with Soup Stock)

Ingredients

1 Container Firm Aloha Tofu Atsuage flour as needed

oil for flying as needed

2⅓ cups dashi

⅓ cup Japanese sake

⅓ cup soy sauce

3 tablespoons mirin

Cooking Directions

1. Drain tofu well.

2. Cut tofu into 4 quarters, coat with flour, and heat oil to a medium temperature and deep-fry until golden brown.

3. In a pot, combine dashi, sake, soy sauce and mirin, and bring to a boil. Add in deep-fried tofu and bring to a boil again.

4. Place each tofu piece in a serving dish and pour the soup over the tofu.

Quick Tip

Top generously with grated daikon and garnish with green onions, kai-ware daikon, etc,
